Curator

Madge Yao is a Toronto-based independent curator originally from Taiwan. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Shih-Hsin University, Madge approaches her curatorial practice with journalistic attentiveness to subtle shifts, undertones, and minority narratives. She is drawn to community-driven topics and the butterfly effects of individual stories that reshape social landscapes. Rooted in the Latin curare, “to take care of,” Madge’s curatorial approach centres acts of care. Guided by the belief that conversations strengthen communities, Madge brings together artwork as an act of community healing and story revealing.
